Win the Photo Contest and Travel with SHIP'S CAT,
the Guardian of Hopeful Journeys
WeBase operates accommodation facilities nationwide and has expanded to five locations in the last eight years. At each location stands a giant cat statue called SHIP'S CAT. These sculptures, which are public pieces of art created by one of Japan's leading contemporary artists Mr. Yanobe, symbolize our journey and growth. WeBase has continued and will continue to evolve alongside SHIP'S CAT.
As Mr. Yanobe says, life is like a journey. Given that we live in a world where the future is difficult to predict, we are excited to host an online photo contest featuring SHIP'S CAT. The contest invites participants to come together and envision a brighter and more hopeful future. The theme of the photo contest is "Hope." As a token of our gratitude, WeBase will present the winners with a unique "trip" that only WeBase can offer.

How to participate
There are three easy steps to participate. You can submit up to 10 works.
Step 1
Follow the official Instagram account of the accommodation you want to visit or support. Click here for designated accommodations. *You can follow multiple accounts.
Step 2
Take a photo of SHIP'S CAT (if the photo was taken by the applicant, it is OK even if it was taken before the campaign).

Step 3
Application hashtag: #WeBase_SHIPSCAT2024

Notes
Only photos taken by the applicant themselves are accepted.
You can submit up to 10 works.
If there are people in the photo other than the entrant, please obtain permission to use them before submitting.
If you are under 18 years old, please apply with parental consent.
When taking photographs within WeBase, please follow the instructions at each location and take care not to disturb other customers.
Copyright infringement, slander, violation of privacy, and nuisance behavior are strictly prohibited.

Screening Method
The creator of SHIP'S CAT , Kenji Yanobe, one of Japan's leading contemporary artists, will serve as the chairman of the judging committee, and the campaign secretariat will conduct a rigorous review.

Announcement of the Winners
The winner will be announced on the campaign website around the afternoon of Tuesday, June 25, 2024. Please bookmark this page.
After that, the campaign office will contact the winners directly via the message function on the WeBase official account and inform them about handing over the prizes.
